11 березня 2025 року стало ще одним темним днем для морської спільноти та для України як морської держави. Жорстокий ракетний удар російських сил вразив порт Одеси, залишивши після себе руйнування, горе та біль. Серед жертв – четверо молодих моряків: троє сирійців і один українець, які загинули, коли балістична ракета вразила балкер MJ Pinar під прапором Барбадосу під час завантаження пшениці для експорту до Алжиру. Наймолодшій жертві було лише 18 років. 💔

Море – це місце єдності, де моряки з усього світу поділяють спільний дух стійкості, мужності та наполегливої праці. Порт Одеси, ключовий вузол глобальної продовольчої безпеки та символ морської сили України, зазнає безперервних атак. Цей останній удар не тільки забрав людські життя, а й серйозно пошкодив ще одне судно, портову інфраструктуру та зерносховища. Це напад не лише на Україну, але й на всіх, хто залежить від безпечних і відкритих морських шляхів для торгівлі, засобів до існування та продовольчої безпеки.
Місія Stella Maris завжди полягала в тому, щоб піклуватися про моряків, надавати їм підтримку, захист та безпечний притулок у часи кризи. Втрата цих життів – це глибока трагедія для всієї морської спільноти. Моряки – це не просто працівники; вони є життєвою силою глобальної торгівлі, забезпечуючи доставку їжі, ліків та життєво необхідних товарів у кожен куточок світу. Кожна атака на них – це атака на людяність.
Ми закликаємо міжнародну спільноту стати на бік України та людей моря. Необхідно шукати справедливість і терміново вжити заходів для захисту моряків, які щодня ризикують життям, щоб утримувати світ на зв’язку. ❗️

Russia Killed 4 Syrians & Ukrainians on March 11th by a Missile Attack on Odesa Port | Stella Maris Mourns the Loss of Seafarers 🙏
March 11, 2025, marked another dark day for the maritime community and for Ukraine as a seafaring nation. A brutal missile attack by Russian forces struck the port of Odesa, leaving destruction, grief, and sorrow in its wake. Among the victims were four young seafarers – three Syrians and one Ukrainian – who lost their lives when a ballistic missile hit the Barbados-flagged bulk carrier MJ Pinar as it was loading wheat bound for Algeria. The youngest of the deceased was just 18 years old. 💔
At Stella Maris, we mourn deeply for those who perished, and our hearts go out to their families and colleagues. The sea is a place of unity, where sailors from across the world share a bond of resilience, courage, and hard work. The attack on civilian maritime infrastructure is an atrocity that defies not only international law but also the fundamental principles of humanity.
The port of Odesa, a crucial gateway for global food security and a symbol of Ukraine’s maritime strength, has endured relentless attacks. This latest strike not only claimed lives but also severely damaged another vessel, port infrastructure, and grain storage facilities.
